The earthquake in Haiti was one of the greatest tragedies of modern history. On Janaury 12th, 2010, a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti, devastating the capital city Port-au-Prince and nearby towns. The estimated death toll was from 250,000 to over 300,000, and approximately 1 million people were left homeless. Daily life during this moment in time was defined by a contrast of devastation, destruction and violence with the strength, beauty and dignified humanity of the Haitian people.
